Rosemary-2A few years ago I planted a small rosemary plant in my garden, it was really small, I never thought that will be so big as is now and I am actually very happy with that, because rosemary is a beautiful plant, that in the spring will give you some flowers and of course is a great taste maker in your meals as well as very healthy, full vitamins and nutrients. Fritatta-7Frittata is a fantastic italian recipe where you can use endless combinations of ingredients, I often make it just to “clean” the leftovers vegetables or meat I have in the refrigerator. Just open it and look at what you have and test, then you can have a different frittata every time, perfect that variation. Nasi Spices Mix

Nasikruiden-3Nasi is one of the most popular meals from Indonesia at least here in The Netherlands. Years ago I use to buy a package from the supermarket in which it supposed to be all the spices you need to prepare the perfect nasi. This was before I started to read the labels from all the products I was buying and start to understand all the chemicals and salt I was eating. You should check what you have at home and read the ingredients, you will be surprised that actually you are eating a chemical experiment. It is for my understanding a vitamin bomb because there are a lot vegetables, you could make it fully vegetarian keeping the sausages out, but I think they give extra taste to the meal. It is a fantastic taste maker plus has also some vitamins and minerals (manganese, magnesium, iron, potassium, vitamin C and B6), of course you will only use a bit for your meal but still it is good to say that is a healthy spice. Pasta-with-broccoli-7Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables there is. Now that the superfoods are so much in, I thinks is right to say that broccoli is a superfood. The nutrients you find besides a lot of fibers are, vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, E and K, and the metals calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. Pitta Bread

Pitta-Breads-7Some time ago my daughter was asking me to make falafel, normally we have for lunch from one of those falafel places there are. I thought I should give it a go, the falafel itself didn’t work out the way it suppose to be, so no pictures no review, but the pitta bread I made from Paul Hollywood’s book are worth to talk about. You just need some patience and you have great bread to go with anything like souvlaki, in the book you also find the recipe or with falafel, ideal.  (more…)
