Pasta-with-broccoli-7Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables there is. Now that the superfoods are so much in, I thinks is right to say that broccoli is a superfood. The nutrients you find besides a lot of fibers are, vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, E and K, and the metals calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. Pitta Bread

Pitta-Breads-7Some time ago my daughter was asking me to make falafel, normally we have for lunch from one of those falafel places there are. I thought I should give it a go, the falafel itself didn’t work out the way it suppose to be, so no pictures no review, but the pitta bread I made from Paul Hollywood’s book are worth to talk about. Mushrooms-risotto-8Some time ago I already made a review for risotto with mushrooms, then was from a Jamie Oliver recipe, this time is an oven risotto from Karin Luiten. The good thing from this one is that is easier because you finish in the oven with all the bouillon, so no need to add spoon by spoon, the taste is still fantastic. Sometimes I hear people saying that eat vegetarian is boring, well that’s absolutely not true. I am not vegetarian, I like to eat meat or fish sometimes, but at home we eat for sure a few times a week no meat or fish at all and it is a very colorful and healthy meal then. If you grilled your vegetables they taste fantastic and they are a bomb of vitamins. You can grill I think all vegetables, it is easy and delicious and you can made endless combinations.  (more…)

Oven-potatoes-3Potatoes is one of those ingredients that you can make in endless ways, boiled in water, fry, baked or mashed. Also it is a great source of vitamins C, B6, potassium, thiamine, riboflavin, folate, magnesium, phosphorous, iron, and zinc. I am always looking for new recipes, I also think that actually chocolate is healthy because makes you feel happy and if you are happy your body is feeling good, so conclusion you feel healthier, so good reason to eat chocolate. Scones

I think Scones is one of our favorites at home to have with a cup of tea, typical English. Actually we go to the UK almost every year, we need to get some supplies, like English Tea, special flours that are difficult to get in Holland or they are much more expensives, or icing sugar. Then we enjoy going to the tea rooms to have a scone, the best scone ever I had in York, since then I have been searching for a good recipe, combining ingredients and this is my favorite one, still the one in York is winning but I maybe one day I get the secret ingredient.  (more…)
