Granola

Granola-3Granola is one of the most populars grains at this moment and if is selfmade is absolutely fantastic. You can have for breakfast or giving extra taste to your ice cream, perfect with milk or yogurt. Has a lot of vitamins but also sugars if you are not very careful. My own granola is a bit of everything and actually never taste the same because I constantly change the ingredients, depending in what I have at home at that moment.  (more…)

Minestrone Soup

Minestrone-6Minestrone soup is a fantastic meal because you can put anything you can find at home, from carrots to peppers, celery, leek, any vegetable is good. If you look in books or websites everybody has a different one, you have them just with stock or like this one with passata. It is an endless combination meal and if you make a lot, you can freeze and then the second time taste even better.  (more…)

Chicken Tikka Masala

Chicken-Tikka-Masala-9Who doesn’t like Chicken Tikka Masala? I think everybody love it. I have eaten a few times using those ready sauces from the supermarket, they were not great but the taste was almost as the real thing. Finally in Jamie’s Comfort Food it was the perfect recipe, actually one of the less complicated recipes from the whole book, still quite elaborate, but absolutely fantastic in taste. (more…)

Scandi Almond Cookies

Scandi-Almond-Cookies-7Sometimes in the weekend my family asks if I want to make some cookies, I have to say they are not really my speciality, some how they don’t turn so well as they are to be expected. These almond cookies from the GBBO are simple and everybody, even me, can make them. Although mine didn’t look very pretty, the taste was absolutely fantastic.  (more…)

This recipe from Nigella is highly recommended, specially if you don’t want to spend much time in the kitchen, in no time you have a nice dinner with quite a lot of vitamins thanks to the zucchini. Cypriot Lamb Dish

Lamb-casserole-8A couple of weeks ago I decided to make this dish from Annabel Langbein, it was the first time for me to cook pastinak and it was perfect, according to my family maybe too much carrots, but I still think that it was good, I adapted a bit the ingredients and the quantity to make sure we had enough food to be able to eat twice, actually the second time taste even better, all the spices have done their extra work.
