Vegetarian-Pie-8We all know that we need to eat at least 200 gr. vegetables per day, sometimes we struggle because we might not get to that, well there are always options, like a soup or a vegetarian pie, where you can hid a lot of vegetables and get your portion of vitamins and proteins. Rosemary

Rosemary-2A few years ago I planted a small rosemary plant in my garden, it was really small, I never thought that will be so big as is now and I am actually very happy with that, because rosemary is a beautiful plant, that in the spring will give you some flowers and of course is a great taste maker in your meals as well as very healthy, full vitamins and nutrients. Fritatta-7Frittata is a fantastic italian recipe where you can use endless combinations of ingredients, I often make it just to “clean” the leftovers vegetables or meat I have in the refrigerator. Just open it and look at what you have and test, then you can have a different frittata every time, perfect that variation. Healthy Rice

It is for my understanding a vitamin bomb because there are a lot vegetables, you could make it fully vegetarian keeping the sausages out, but I think they give extra taste to the meal. Oven-potatoes-3Potatoes is one of those ingredients that you can make in endless ways, boiled in water, fry, baked or mashed. Also it is a great source of vitamins C, B6, potassium, thiamine, riboflavin, folate, magnesium, phosphorous, iron, and zinc. So forget about that myth that potatoes are making you fat, if you cooked them on the right way are perfectly healthy and even healthier if you eat them with the skin, because the skin has the most vitamins.  (more…)

Spanish Casserole

Spanish-Cassoulet-4After a couple of weeks off, finally life is starting to go to normal and I can get back into my cooking and then of course time to update my website. This Spanish Casserole I learned years ago from my mum, but every time I make is surprisingly delicious, I forget that something so simple and easy to make is just fantastic. Pasta Bolognese

Pasta-Bolognesa-4Pasta Bolognese must be one of the most populars sauces there is, everybody has his/her own way of making and of course I also have mine. The basic is like any bolognese, minced meat and tomatoes, what it makes different from the rest are the spices/herbs that I use plus of course I also add some vegetables, to make it a bit more healthy. Normally I made a big pan, so sauce for 6 people, that way I can freeze the half to eat another time when we don’t have much time to cook.  (more…)
