Bouillon-3

I love to make my own vegetable bouillon (broth) because every time taste different, it is easy to make, you can freeze in portions and use when you need it and of course it is healthier because you know what is in there, you have put the ingredients, no chemicals are there. This recipe will help you to make the most fantastic broth with a lot of vitamins and more. 

The ingredients I use changes from time to time, depending in what I have a to home, you can use any vegetable you can imagine. For this time I had:

  • 3 celery sticks
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 leak
  • 1 onion
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • Parsley
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Laurier
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 4 to 5 l. water

Bouillon-1The only thing you need to do is wash all the ingredients very well, cut the celery sticks in 2 or 3 pieces, the same for the carrot and the leak. The onion you don’t need to peel, just cut into 2 pieces. To start you need to have a very big pan where all the ingredients and 5 liter water fit. Put into the pan all the vegetables, not the herbs, then add the water and some pepper.

Bouillon-2Once the water start boiling add all the herbs and salt, put the fire a bit down and leave it to simmer for about 1 h. 45 m. After that prepare few bowls that can go into the freezer. Strain the broth dividing into the bowls, what I do is I make 600 ml portions, for me is easier to store and use, but that’s up to you of course. The perfect bouillon is now ready!
