OreganoAmong other herbs I also grow oregano in my garden, it is fantastic to see how big gets the plant in the spring summer, to die in the winter and then to see it regrow in the spring again, mother nature is just incredible. This is one of the reasons I like to grow herbs, vegetables and fruits in my garden, to enjoy and learn how things work. 

Oregano is a Mediterranean herb, originally from Greece that is wonderful to use in the kitchen and has great benefits for your health containing a large amount of vitamins and proteins, in a 15 gr. portion dried oregano there is:

  • Vitamin A: 0.10 mg
  • Vitamin B1: 0.04 mg
  • Sodium: 3 mg
  • Potassium: 240 mg
  • Calcium: 240 mg
  • Fosfor: 30 mg
  • Iron: 8 mg
  • Fibers: 2.4 g
  • Proteins: 1.7 g
  • Carbohydrates: 7.5 g
  • Fat: 1.6 g
